Hierbij een 17e-eeuwse diepe schotel met Chilong-draken die de mystieke brande parel achterna zitten.                                                             Gemaakt in de late Ming-dynastie in de ovens van Zhangzhou, dit valt onder het zogeheten ''Swatow'' porselein, uit de provinciale streken van China. Porselein zoals dit uit de ovens van Zhangzhou waren bedoeld voor de Aziëatische exportmarkt naar landen zoals Japen, Viëtnam, Indonesië en Europa gedurende de Wanli-periode tot aan de val van de Ming-dynastie. Deze schotels en borden, vaak met een wat grovere tekenstijl gedecoreerd kwamen ook met meer plychromie voor naast het blauw en wit, met vaak thema's als lotus bloemen en feniksen.

Here is a 17th century deep dish with Chilong dragons chasing the mystical brande pearl.                                                               Made in the late Ming Dynasty in the kilns of Zhangzhou, this falls under the so-called ''Swatow'' porcelain, from the provincial regions of China. Porcelain like this from the kilns of Zhangzhou were intended for the Asian export market to countries such as Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Europe during the Wanli period until the fall of the Ming Dynasty. These dishes and plates, often decorated with a somewhat coarser drawing style, also appeared with more polychromy in addition to the blue and white, often with themes such as lotus flowers and phoenixes.
